Cheers! - John and DannyThe Difference between a Mid Arbor and Large Arbor Fly Reel:Mid Arbor fly reels are going to be the closest to the traditiona fly reels of the last decade. The overall advantage of a mid arbor fly reels is the slightly larger diameter spool for increased line retrieval as well as additional line and backing capacity.Large Arbor fly reels would be comparable to a high-speed gear ratio in a spinning or conventional reels. The large diameter spool arbor allows the angler to pick up much more line with each revolution of the reel. Ideal for big game fish speicies, or those anglers looking to get the most line and backing capacity out of their reel.
